Here are a few of the things that were inspirational during the development of Leila and the Little Folk.

• The Broken Age documentaries. Broken Age is a beautiful point-and-click adventure from Double Fine productions. As a Kickstarter backer of the project, I had access to the excellent documentary episodes that were made during the production of the game, and these were a genuine source of inspiration. I can thoroughly recommend getting both the game AND the documentary from here.
• Indie Game : The Movie. This film follows the makers of 3 indie games throughout the development process. Definitely worth a watch.
• The Ultimate History of Video Games. A book that charts the history of game development from the very beginnings up to close to modern days. The sections on the very early days are particularly interesting.
